The Egyptian Revolution of 1952 saw Egypt demanding the end to the condominium and led to Sudan's independence.

This wall painting was uncovered in Thebes in Egypt and was copied by the French Orientalist Emile Prisse.

RF2C4YKXD–This illustration dates to the early 1900s and shows Amehotep’s statues of the goddess Mut, the ancient Egyptian goddess of peace. The aggressive characteristic of Mut was embodied in the goddess Sekhmet. Amenhotep (ruled c.1356-1383 B.c.)was the ninth pharaoh of the ancient Egyptian 18th Dynasty -during the period known as the New Kingdom. He created many many statues of Sekhmet/Mut - some seen here in ruins. Amenhotep hope they would help keep illness away from him.

RMTRNYE3–Nitocris, is claimed to have been the last pharaoh of ancient Egypt's Sixth Dynasty during the transition between the Old Kingdom and First Intermediate Period, around 2181BC. According to Herodotus, she constructed a spacious underground chamber and, on pretense of inaugurating it, threw a banquet, inviting all those whom she knew to have been responsible for the murder of her brother. Suddenly as they were feasting, she let the river in upon them by means of a large, secret duct and to avoid the other conspirators, committed suicide.
