A teenager claims she posted naked snaps of her ex on Instagram to get revenge.

Marley Wise was arrested after she 'impulsively' posted the nude shots - fearing he had done the same to her.

The act left her ex feeling 'extremely embarrassed and humiliated' - with that misery compounded when the snaps caught the eye of unwanted male admirers online.

The 19-year-old has now been convicted under 'revenge porn' laws after admitting to uploading the pictures when the couple's 'volatile' nine-month relationship ended.

Teesside Magistrates' Court heard the illegal act had made the victim's life a 'misery'.

'I don't want anything else to do with her and would be quite happy if I never saw her again,' he said a statement.

The court heard Wise was a teenage troublemaker who first appeared in court aged 13 for violence, but had suffered heartbreaking tragedies at a young age.

She had achieved GCSEs along with apprenticeships at both Stockton and Hartlepool Council.

But she snapped in November after 'festering' over nude snaps of herself she had sent to her former partner.

The court heard that in better times, the couple had felt it was 'appropriate' to send nude pics of themselves to each other.

In police interview, her solicitor claimed Wise told Cleveland Police that she was also a victim of the same crime.

'The reason she did it was because he had posted images of her on the internet,' claimed Neil Taylor, mitigating.

'She has not tried to hide from this - she accepts what she did was wrong.' He added officers had a 'duty' to investigate her claims if they were made in interview.

But prosecutor Lynne Dalton carried out police checks and claimed there was 'no record' of any investigation.

The court heard the offending images were removed after an hour, with the probation service - which was ordered to look at all sentencing options including custody - claiming Wise told them she doesn't use social media anymore.

Magistrates ordered unemployed Wise to pay £100 compensation to her victim, with the money to come from her benefits.

The court heard she's currently sanctioned after failing to attend appointments. 

Wise, now of Hartland Grove, Hartlepool, was also handed a six-month community order and made to pay £85 costs.
