Best time to see January supermoon 2018 tonight - when to look for massive blue moon supermoon in UK

When will the blue supermoon be visible in the UK? Can we se the supermoon tonight?

Super Blue Blood Moon 2018  - where you can see it

Tonight is bringing a very special treat for stargazers.

A second supermoon is coming this January and it should be amazing - providing there is good visibility.

It's rare to get two full moons in a single month - when it happens the second one is known as a blue moon.

And it's even more rare for both of them to be supermoons.

The two January lunar displays will be the only supermoons in the whole year, so they are worth looking out for.

And in some parts of the world, there is also a lunar eclipse that is turning the moon orange-red, an eerie phenomenon known as a blood moon.

The last time there was a supermoon, blue moon, blood moon and eclipse all at the same time was more than 150 years ago, on March 31, 1866.

So it's worth looking to the skies for this incredibly rare cosmic event.
