Ben Parker compared Leeds United youngster Clarke Odour to Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt during his co-commentary of the Whites’ excellent 6-3 win over Burnley’s Under-23 side on Tuesday.

Leeds earned an excellent win over a Burnley side that included England international Tom Heaton at the Clarets’ training ground, which included a hat-trick from Patrick Bamford.

The former Chelsea striker continued his recovery with 90 minutes and three well-taken goals, while Izzy Brown, Jack Clarke and Lewis Baker also found the back of the net.

Former Leeds left-back Parker was commentating for LUTV during the match, and after a Leeds break from a Burnley corner, he described the pace of left-back Odour as something you would expect from Jamaican sprinter Bolt.

“If you want to watch counter-attacking at its finest, then take a clip of that break,” Parker said. “Leeds were at the other end of the pitch in a matter of seconds.

“Clarke Odour has ran the length of the pitch so quickly, he looked like Usain Bolt down the left flank.”

Odour, 19, has impressed in Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side this season, with his pace and trickery with the ball earning him a regular place in the second string. He is also able to play as a winger.

Odour, though, is yet to make his senior debut but will take confidence from the fact that the likes of Jack Clarke, Will Huffer, Aapo Halme, Jamie Shackleton and more have been given chances in the senior side.

The win for Leeds’ Under-23 side sees them sit at the top of the Professional Development League after 15 games, winning nine of those, drawing three and losing three.
