Conor Harrington has earned world wide recognition thanks to his amazing fusion of street art motifs and ambitious realistic painting. Even though he is filling galleries around the world, he hasn’t forgotten his street art background and still does amazing, usually large-scale mural on the streets. These urban art paintings fuse realist figurative work inspired by old masters with abstractions taken from the graffiti scene that nurtured his talents. Harrington’s combining contemporary and classical references create and amazing dialogue with the viewer and make Conor one of the best artists of his generation. From solo exhibitions to group shows, Harrington has been quite busy last weeks. He was one of the few artists called by the Juxtapoz Magazine to participate in their 20 years celebration; he was a part of the DUBL TRUBL project, hosted the solo exhibition Eat and Delete and released the accompanying print "The Unveiling" via the Outsiders online shop. Celebrating 20 Years of Juxtapoz Magazine

In May this year, one of the of the most known and respected Arts and Culture publications dedicated to the variety of the contemporary scene, Juxtapoz Magazine was celebrating 20 year anniversary. The whole 2014 will be marked by various events honoring the two decades of the mag, and one of them was the exhibition entitled Art Truancy: Celebrating 20 Years of Juxtapoz Magazine, organized in both New York spaces of Jonathan LeVine Gallery. The show featured artwork specially contributed by artists who made the pages of this phenomenal publication since it was founded, introducing the new decade of the monthly, and Conor Harrington was one of them. For the occasion, Harrington made this fantastic portrait.

DUBL TRUBL

For the first time this year, Urban Spree Gallery in Berlin presented a large exhibition named DUBL TRUBL after the collective, that showcased more than 80 urban artists selected globally, who showed array of most diverse collaborative work. The aim of DUBL TRUBL is the assembly of a fantastic collection comprised of collaborative artwork created by some of the best known names of the new contemporary art movement. Opened September 18th, the show welcomed artists like Aeon, Alex CF, Alex fa kso, Andrew Gillman, Anthony Lister, Base 23, Billy, BO 130, Break, BRK 192, Chips For The Poor, Christiaan Nagel and much more. Conor Harrington was amongst them, creating a wonderful piece and justifying the place on the list.

DUBL TRUBL

Eat and Delete

From September 27 to October 12, 2014 the viewers will have the unique chance to visit the highly anticipated first solo exhibition by Conor Harrington. The exhibition entitled “Eat and Delete” will show the artist’s power to articulate street art motifs with the rich hyper-realist techniques. The artist continues to explore themes which were present in his Dead Meat exhibition (2012) and A Whole Lot of Trouble for a Little Bit of Win (2013). In addition, the Eat and Delete exhibition will feature a selection of off-site murals, complementing the artist’s residency in New York.
