Every once in a while, Google does something impressive on the Google Doodle on its main search page. Sometimes they attempt to do virtual reality while other times they use AI to power a doodle that lets users create music.

Just in time for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the company released a Google Doodle that’s a full-blown video game. Made in conjunction with animation studio STUDIO 4°C, “Doodle Champions Island Games” puts players in the shoes of a calico named Lucky. She lands on the eponymous island and has to explore it and compete seven insport mini-games. She has one mission: Lucky has to collect seven sacred scrolls. While exploring, she can also complete other hidden challenges and find Easter eggs.

It’s astounding that Google could make a full-blown video game on its website. It’s actually pretty fun as well, featuring beautifully animated cut scenes and bright and cheery adventures. The minigames can be difficult depending on whether you’re using a laptop or desktop. It’s obviously inspired by the Olympics, and the 16-bit Japanese video game art style is pitch-perfect because of the location of the Games. You can check it out here.

Here are some quick tips:

  • If you click on the compass, it gives you a map and shows your progress in the game.
  • The game has controller support in the options.
  • If you’re out work in the office, you can turn the sound off.
  • If you want to brag about your score on social media, you can hit the share button.
  • We all know that Team Blue is the best. It’s all about hard work.
  • If you need to cut your session short, you can close your browser and it will return to where you left off.
