Sheryl Crow, 60, is an American musician, born in Kennett, Missouri on February 11, 1962.
After successfully graduating from the University of Missouri, Sheryl became a music teacher at an elementary school in Fenton, Missouri.
She was teaching school all day, then singing in bars at night, when she met producer Jay Oliver.
Oliver had a production studio in the basement of his parents' St Louis home, where the two created jingles for a few local commercials together.
It wasn’t long before the big brands such as McDonald’s and Toyota were reaching out to work with her.
It still wasn't all easy for Sheryl.
She took the money from the McDonald's commercial and went to Hollywood.
She showed up un-scheduled to an audition as a backup singer for Michael Jackson, and she nailed it.
By 1989, Sheryl was well on her way to superstardom after working as a backup vocalist on Michael Jackson’s Bad tour for three years.

In 1992, the singer was on the verge of releasing her debut album before she decided not to.
She reportedly told friends at the time that she didn’t feel the record represented her correctly, saying songs came off as being “too produced” and “slick."
The album’s release date, September 22, 1992, was consequently canceled by her record label at the time.
