What a fantastic weekend at Hessisch Oldendorf. Congratulations to the whole team. This was my first time at Hessisch Oldendorf but securely not the last time. Seen many beautiful cars. I've enjoyed the tour in Wolfsburg at monday. Also took some pics. The links to the pictures you can find here

Not many compared to the Hebs! Saw a couple in the campsite too, half a mile out from the town centre...which was its own great show...I'd guess around 10 total

Whats the story with the hardtop Heb? Real split turned heb (I see it has crotch coolers, split dash and grooved bumpers)?, real Heb turned hardtop?( probably not semaphores are in the wrong place) etc......

I´ve counted twelve split verts in Hessisch on the show ground. Plus one Karmann standing on a trailor on a park field. It was a brown creme one which is (or was) for sale. Has anybody a picture of this car Question In Bad Camberg 1999 were only ten split verts....so we have a new record Wink

Hello,
yes the coupe was made in Norway. Congratulations Oystein! Great coachwork on it.

Guess what parts were used.... Cool

Thank you for your interest in my parts and our type 14a Prototype.

First of all - thanks for a fantastic show in Hessisch last week! The Grundmann family, all the guys with orange T-shirts and the mayor of HO - what an effort! In Volkswagenism there will be two era's now: Before and after Hessisch 2009... See you in 2013!

Thanks for the kind words on the Coupe as well. DER WIGER COUPE is a one-off coachbuilt Volkswagen - built in Norway with metalwork by world class coachbuilder "Norwegian Hammerworks".

Der Wiger Coupe is NOT a replica of any sort, it is NOT a Hebmuller of any sort. It is a unique coachbuilt Coupe, inspired by the Hebmuller. A car that never was - but should have been. Very much like "Der Stoll Coupe", in the Autostadt today. A tribute to the lost craftsmanship of proper coachbuilding.

The project was planned 12 years ago, initially by parts collecting and sketching. Full speed ahead when a perfect donor in the form of a May-1952 rust free all complete Sedan (with roof damage) showed up last fall. All metal work is done from November 2008 to April 2009 by Thomas at Norwegian Hammerworks. The engine lid and cowl skin is from Dr D at Blech Manufactur. A full project thread will follow - some day.

Thanks a million to all involved in this project - finally the car that never was....is.

Here's 125 pics I took. I tried to take more pics of people and events than cars, as pics of cars are everywhere. Once I get some codec issues worked out on my computer, I'll have some pretty cool video to post...

Theres one problem with your statement. There WAS one known hardtop Hebmuller....and its not the Stoll coupe. The Hebmuller Coupe was destroyed in an accident.

Well - there was a Hebmuller Coupe and I am very aware of that - with rear seats and rear quarter windows. One surely could have built a replica of that, but I dislike replicas and frankly the Hebmuller Coupe design had some features and lines that do not flow very well.

Our intention was a different design - closer to the lines of the Cabrio Hebmuller - with 2 seats and no side windows. The Coupe that Hebmuller should have built...A "3 window Coupe" - "Der Wiger Coupe".

Funny you mention that, we considered trying to get it down there, were even looking for a rudimentary way to measure it (I think it would have fit) but Bob just resigned to leaving it out in front of the hotel.....

Congratulations Claus, proof if it were ever needed that Split 'Verts are rarer than Hebs.

I didn't count them but I'm pretty sure it must have been a world record for VWs running Judson Superchargers too. Wink
