“Madame Alfred Carriere” is a climbing rose produces masses of double, pure white flowers from spring through autumn. The showy blooms are sweetly fragrant and complemented with lush and glossy, dark green leaves which affords a lovely contrast of colours. This deciduous shrub will grow to 4 m tall and the same wide but is often contained to much smaller sizes with heavy pruning in winter. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and short periods of dry. “Madame Alfred Carriere” is commonly trained onto trellises, fences, or other support structures. It also looks impressive when allowed to sprawl across the ground and is often added to cottage and “white” gardens.
