Trollheimen National Park

Trollheimen National Park is one of Norway’s best national parks for cabin to cabin hikes. It’s only two hours on the train from Trondheim and easily reachable from Oslo as well. The area is sometimes described as the most alpine hiking in Norway. I spent summer 2023 exploring the area and loved it.

If you’re looking to go cabin to cabin hiking, there are four options:

  • Ten Days in Trollheimen: a combination of the SignaTUR and the Trollheimen Triangles for ten to twelve days of exploration

  • Classic Trollheimen Triangle: one of Norway’s classic cabin to cabin hikes, with three days in between serviced cabins. It’s accessible by most levels of hikers

  • Trollheimen SignaTUR: seven days covering all the major highlights of Trollheimen National Park. It’s a great first SignaTUR

  • West Trollheimen Triangle: three to four days in the much less visited half of the park. It’s harder to get to without a car
