Fritillaria camschatcensis

Fritillaria camschatcensis (Chcolate Lily) is spectacular to look at and terrible to smell. They are also called “outhouse lilies” and there is good reason for that. Plant them where you can seen them but not too close to the deck. They bloom early with dark purple blooms. They grow to a height of 16 inches. New bulbs form from the parent bulb and from seed.

Due to voracious voles, my supply of these is low but feel free to call or email to see if I have some to spare. They are a favorite food of voles and apparently chipmunks.
