Gianettino’s Tiny Menagerie

As I read this week’s fiction piece, “Atria,” by Ramona Ausubel, visions of animals danced in my head—and many of them looked like Larry Gianettino’s closeup photographs of tiny toy creatures, some no bigger than a pencil eraser. As the legendary W. M. Hunt says in his introduction to Gianettino’s book, “Close Friends,” “Things are different here—enchanted and colorful and a little scary.” Here’s a peek into Gianettino’s world.
