Miley Cyrus Is on Fire

Miley Cyrus is going from strength to strength—the singer scooped up her first Grammy Award just days ago, broke records late last year, and now it appears people can't get enough of her, with her social media following soaring.

Cyrus picked up gongs for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Flowers" at the 2024 Grammy Awards, which took place on Sunday. A full list of winners from the night can be seen here.

"Flowers" was released in January 2023 and became the fastest song to exceed 100 million listens on Spotify.

The award-winning hit set another new record last month by landing in Billboard's Top 100 Adult Contemporary chart for 38 weeks. The song beat the previously held honor by Maroon 5 with "Girls Like You," which had a 36-week run in the charts.

The 31-year-old performed "Flowers" at the annual awards show held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, following her win for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Still elated from her win, during the performance she swapped out the song's lyrics of "Started to cry, but then remembered" with "then remembered, I just won my first Grammy."

Some may say Taylor Swift stormed the night by announcing her new album mid-acceptance speech, The Tortured Poets Department, which is set to land on April 19. But the rise in Cyurs' social media following after the double win shows that she is worthy of the superstar title.

Swift collected awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for Midnights.

In the last day, Cyrus has seen an increase of over 180,000 followers across her social media.

According to the social analytics website Social Blade, Cyrus has gained 173,494 followers on Instagram over the past day, now boasting an impressive 216 million followers in total.

On X, formerly Twitter, she gained 6,595 new fans in the same period. She currently has 46.3 million followers on X.

Cyrus shared several images of her night at the Grammy Awards on her Instagram, which currently has 4 million likes and over 38,000 comments.

One fan replied to her post: "Everything fell into place right here! Congratulations," while another said: "The best performance of the night."

RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage said: "Superstar" with singer-songwriter Tinashe adding: "Miley you ateeeee."

Although the megastar has a loyal fan base and her recent success has seen that number grow, some did find her performance at the Grammys a tad awkward, calling it "embarrassing."
