Carrie Bradshaw is back (and her outfit is to die for)

We're not going to lie, ever since Sex and the City left our screens 15 years go (how has it been that long?), we've been dying for Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda to make a comeback.

But while Sarah Jessica Parker shut down doing a third movie without Kim Catrall, it looks like Carrie may be making a comeback nonetheless.

The actress shared a video on her Instagram showing our favourite TV fashion icon walking down the streets of New York, wearing a fabulous outfit as always.

It includes a see through mint tulle skirt, a bejewelled belt and a Gucci-esque gold lame bomber jacket. With Carrie, it's all about the shoes naturally, and here we see her sport some peep-toe white lace sock boots. All v. 80s but in a good way.

Alongside the caption, SJP wrote, 'My old friend. She is making a brief reappearance. Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come. X, SJ'

This makes us think it might be a brief TV stint or collaboration with a charity, especially as the video ends with the message #PourItForward.

A quick Google tells us it refers to a partnership between Stella Artois and Water.org, co-founded by Matt Damon, to provide clean drinking water to under-developed countries.

One way or another. we're glad to see Carrie donning her Manolos again, even if it is for a brief appearance.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.

Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).

Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
