Thomas Breen

Thomas Breen, a double bass player who is a senior at Pine View School and an alumnus of the Perlman Music Program, will perform Bottesini's Concerto for Double Bass and Orchestra when he plays three concerts with the Venice Symphony this weekend.

The orchestra, under the direction of Kenneth Bowermeister, also will perform Beethoven's Overture to the Creatures of Prometheus and Borodin's Symphony No. 1.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, 1535 E. Venice Ave., Venice. Tickets range from $18-$25. 412-4725.
