Today's Reader Appreciation Day topic: Lots of our readers are digging this nail topcoat from OPI that creates a shattered effect over your regular nail polish. What do you think of this nail trend?
Reader Kenisha sent in this pic of her nails wearing OPI Black Shatter, which is part of the brand's Katy Perry collection. "It's not for the faint of heart!" she says. "I love it with a bright, bold color as the base."
Jasmine, on the other hand, put her Black Shatter over a base of red nail polish for an entirely different look.
Kelli used the glittery color Teenage Dream underneath (also from the OPI Katy Perry collection).
Meanwhile, China Glaze is also selling shatter nail polish in an array of colors; it's called China Glaze Crackle Shatter.
I admit, I have had a sample bottle of Black Shatter kicking around since before it even hit stores, and I haven't yet really wanted to crack it open, despite lots of you asking me what I thought of the concept. Truth be told, I think it's a cute concept for some people, but I'm a 32-year-old mom, so I don't think it really fits.
