Inula helenium is a herbaceous, rhizomatous, perennial, producing large large open faced flowers with slender rayed petals in yellows and deep orange-yellow.
Inula is a low maintenance plant that can grow to two metres tall in the right conditions, though being quite stout they will generally be self-supporting providing conditions are not too open to strong winds.
Borders, rockeries and herb gardens are perfect areas for growing therm, although they also go well in pots and planters, providing you allow for their height.
They are relatively low maintenance plants and being perennials will last for many years, even decades with a little loving care.
