Hoya carnosa 'Compacta' variegata is a cultivar of Hoya carnosa (L.fil.) R.Br. Hoya carnosa has been in cultivation for more than 200 years and has given rise to many cultivars that vary in foliage form or flower color. It is definitely one of the most-loved and most-often cultivated Hoyas.

Hoya carnosa 'Compacta' a' or 'Hindu Rope' is a very unique growing Hoya characterized by its unusual, curled, twisted, waxy leaves that emerge on long rope-like vines.

This variegated variety shows the most wonderful foliage colouration, especially on the leaf margins, making this plant even more spectacular

The genus was named in Modern Latin in honor of English gardener and botanist Thomas Hoy (c. 1750-1822).
