Kim Kardashian, 42, 'recreates' iconic Playboy moment in risqué Met Gala 2023 look

Kim Kardashian, 42, took centre stage last night as she attended the coveted Met Gala 2023 in a show-stopping look that was reminiscent of a previous iconic moment.

The reality TV star looked incredible in a decadent look by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli, which featured a beige bodysuit with draped pearl overlay.

The incredible outfit appeared to reference her 2007 Playboy photoshoot, which was famously shown during season one of her family's reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

The moment saw Kim’s mum, Kris Jenner, turn into an infamous meme as she took a picture of her daughter while cheering her on.

In the scene, Kris told Kim: “You’re doing amazing sweetie,” while Kim posed completely nude except for numerous strands of pearls that were draped over her bust.

Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet last night, Kim explained how the design tied to the annual night’s theme - Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty.

She said: “I thought, what is Karl? You know, the iconic Chanel pearls is what I always thought of, so we wanted to just be dripping in pearls.”

The mum-of-four added: “Some popped on the way and I told my daughter to grab them all, they’re real pearls and she was putting them all in her purse.”

Kim also told the live stream that her nine-year-old daughter North was watching the event from the car as under-18s are reportedly not permitted to join the festivities.

The TV star was the picture of extravagance as she walked the red carpet, keeping her modesty with a cinching beige corset followed by a lengthy cream coat.

Kim’s stellar appearance comes after previous reports alleged that the Kardashian clan had been taken off the guest list as Vogue's editor "cracks down" on Hollywood attendees.

One source previously claimed that "nothing was ever set in stone" and that Kim was "never told she might not be on the list".

The insider alleged to The US Sun: "While invites have now officially been sent out and Kim has been confirmed, the news leak about her possibly not getting an invite did see tensions run high behind the scenes in what has been a big misunderstanding.

"It's been embarrassing for everyone involved but Kim is still excited and has already been working with a top fashion house to design a custom look for the night."

Anna, the Vogue Editor-in-Chief, oversees the guest list for the annual fashion celebration which sees celebrities show off their breathtaking fashion choices.

Kim attended her first Met Gala in 2013 with her then-husband Kanye West while pregnant with their first child, North West.
