I really like these speakers, I use them as Desktop speakers in a Multi Source Home office system powered with a Vintage Mosfet amp. Dont be fooled by their size as they are capable of producing a rather large soundstage and their design makes them rather special in Nearfield desktop configurations. The soundstage seems to float above and beyond and these speakers just disappear. Instruments and vocals have good separation and when pushed they maintain a clarity that belies their small size. The build quality and finish looks more like what you might see in H-Fi speakers costing several K. I have directly compared the OMD5s to a set of high end bookshelf speakers (1500.00)and Low Freq. dynamics was the only thing they fell behind in. As with most small bookshelf speakers a Sub is recommended. Pro's : (Excellent Soundstage), (Extremely Detailed Sound). (Superb Midrange and treble), (Excellent Build Quality and Finish), (Small Form factor works well just about anywhere). Con's : None Really. These speakers get much better after 50+ hours of burn in or use and continue to surprise me after many months of use. Pair them with a sub for either HT duty or a 2 channel system and they are hard to beat for both Movies and Music.Read full review
Klipsch made a huge mistake discontinuing the Mirage OMD lineup after their acquisition of Mirage. Unfortunately, they are becoming harder and harder to find. These speakers have an extremely WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor). She requested a pair in her exercise room and kitchen. The 6Ω load actually draws more power out of average receivers and amplifiers, with high sensitivity (unlike the OMD-28s which require massive power). They fill the room with spacious sound even when positioning is not ideal. Bottom line these are the most versatile speakers I have ever owned. They can be used as main stereo speakers, surrounds, Atmos heights, and even a center channel of a 5.1 setup. The WAF allowed me to have the larger OMD-28s in my media room and OMD-15s in our den.

There isn't anything i don't like about these speakers. Whether using them for stereo w/ a sub or surround sound. They look beautiful and mount easily on the wall, table top or on a shelf. I own several of them through out the house and enjoy them in either stereo and surround sound. I have been using them with the OMD-15 system w/the Presitage S10 sub-woofer. In another room using four of OMD-5 with the OMD-C1 speaker and the Omni S10 sub-woofer. We're satisfied here. We could have spent $3000 more and not gotten much more for the money. There are many other real good sounding speakers out there, however, for the price these are offered at now you may want to give them a look at.
These little speakers are awesome for surround and rear fill duties. They are designed to spread out the sound in a 360 degree manner and do so perfectly. Buy 2 pairs of these for your surround and rear channels for your home theater.
