RHS Award of garden meritAttractive to pollinatorsPerfect for cutting
In gardens where this plant is grown, it always provokes comment. It has divided foliage and bears numerous brilliant scarlet flowers with central black, ladybird-like blobs. Although only an annual, if it likes your garden, it will seed itself annually for evermore. Hardy throughout the British Isles. 1½ft (50cm)

For an easily grown splash of colour, few flowers can equal poppies with their flowers produced in profusion throughout the summer. Sow and forget, nearly all will flower in the first year from sowing.

Great quality, every seed sown germinated: I gave them a start in an electric propagator for 7 days to give the compost some heat. Once through I know it advises not to disturb these once they're growing, but as I sowed some of the seeds into a seed tray I have now transplanted them all and they're thriving. I can't wait for them to flower later in the year.
