White Habanero Pepper. The habanero pepper is the base breed for most of the world's hottest peppers today. In fact, the habanero at one point held the record as the world's hottest pepper clocking in between 100,000-350,000 Scoville heat units although this is a far shot from the peppers that reach millions of heat units today. Habanero plants tend to be more slender and tall than bushy compared to other pepper varieties - reaching about 2-4.5 feet tall. Plants produce a bountiful amount of 1-2 inch fruits that first appear green then ripen to that bright white.

This variety offers much hotter fruit on average with a range of 200,000-300,000 Scoville heat units. Fruits fall on the smaller side with this one.

Harvest: 90-120 Days

Sun: Full Sun

Pairs Well With:

Eggplants – Peppers and eggplants demand similar growing conditions making them quite a strong pairing

Beans, peas - Peppers are heavy feeders and pairing with legume varieties that enrich the soil will do them well

Lettuce, salad mix – These low-to-the-ground varieties both maximize garden space and are light feeders, complimenting both pepper’s size and tendency to pull a lot of nutrients from the soil

Marigolds – a repellent for some of the pests that bother peppers
