Awesome spot for brunch in the Stoke Newington area! A group of 4 came on a Saturday around 9am and got lucky without having to wait.
Food was delicious! I got the rhubarb French toast which I really enjoyed. The poached eggs were a big hit with everyone else at the table. Got a chocolate croissant to-go as well.
The service was very friendly and attentive. They checked in often to make sure we had everything and we were never kept waiting. Loved the bright and cozy atmosphere.
Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 2014First to Review
Esters is not as cosy as its predecessor, Fred and Fran, but still nice. The service was friendly and prompt and the selection of cakes and cookies were eye-catching We opted for a peanut butter cookie and roasted cocoa cookie to share. The 'espresso and milk' was nicely made and filter coffee flavourful. The handle-less mug was welcomed as my fingers were a bit cold from having just tromped through the surrounding neighbourhood.
We noticed that the wee back garden was not set up for outside seating, save for a single table and chair, as had been the case during the F and F era. Hopefully, yesterday was a one-off and the garden will come back into use for patrons. A small garden is better than none!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Krystal F.London, United Kingdom5419Aug 10, 2016
Came here for a quick coffee, but stayed for the amazing French toast!! The drip coffee was perfect and the French toast was filled with fresh ingredients. Even my husbands toasts. Looked decadent! We loved the atmosphere here.

Absolutely my favourite breakfast place on Earth. It's tiny, but the wait is never very long. The menu changes constantly and is fairly fancy -Â think baked eggs with black pudding and twists on za'atar. I've never had a dud dish, but I tend to just go with toast and blood orange marmalade. The sourdough is from LBP, and just PERFECT. Whenever I'm travelling, I miss this place so much. The real point of it is the coffee -Â meticulous flat whites and lattes, and Chemex pour overs. There isn't any other good coffee in Stoke Newington (as all locals know - the coffee at the Spence Bakery is heinous). This is better than anything in Melbourne.

Esters is a delightful cafe run by incredibly accommodating and pleasant staff.
The most delicious and best cafe in Stoke Newington. Proper baristas and particularly good baked delights.
Always heaving with young, trendy locals.
A true gem in the heart of Stoke Newington.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ev _.Austin, TX04Dec 20, 2014
Esters is a fantastic place for brunch and perfectly brewed filter coffees. It's a great little spot to start the day.
