As Spring breaks, Geranium pratense 'Summer Skies' begins to build up energy, ready to produce a soft mound of lush, green weed-suppressing foliage. Then, in May, a mass of buds smothers the foliage - later bursting open and form lovely, large blooms and a magnificent floral display which delightfully lasts from May, throughout the summer, until October. Geranium pratense 'Summer Skies' is so named as it is reminiscent of a wonderful sky on a summer's day! Romantic, tightly double, almost rose-like, pastel blooms emerge in shades of lilac-mauve - maturing to lavender-pink. Each flower has a contrasting sunshine-yellow centre, giving a two-tone effect. Certain to add summer charm to any border and container. Geranium pratense 'Summer Skies' is a tough and undemanding plant with a short bushy habit which reaches a height of 90cm with a spread of approximately 60cm. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or part shade. As a fully hardy perennial which will thrive outside for years without winter protection required.
