air burst has been around for a while, the old Carl gustav recoilless rifles we had in the army would fire airburst rounds, granted the computerized system does make it easier.

Seems these days we lob ammunition at a target that costs alot more than the target is worth.

Other nations already have something similar.. Korea already deployed one that also fires 5.56 round, w/ the UAE already having bought Korea's rifle (for testing first.. not sure if they bought in full scale yet). However, it's only a 20mm grenade, compared to this 25mm, but the entire system costs ~$15k. S. Africa is nearly done fielding theirs.
