Summertime at Mount Fløyen

Activities every day from 22nd of June until 18th of August!

The Fløibanen funicular in Bergen is one of Norway’s best-known attractions. The journey up to Fløyen (320 m above sea level) takes about 6 minutes and is an experience in itself. When you arrive at the top a stunning view over Bergen will meet you. In addition we have a lot of activities awaiting for you.

The restaurant is finally open after renovation

The hundred year old restaurant is renewed with a completely new facade. The Brasserie has an informal, cozy vibe with delicious local food. In Peisestuen you can enjoy a nice cocktail. Or come sit by the outdoor serving to enjoy life, the city and the view with a refreshing drink or snack.

The menus will be a homage to what the mountains and the fjords provide for each season. Raw materials with a local grounding. Nature and culture are brought together on our plates. With love, knowledge and crafts we want to bring joy and inspiration by creating great food experiences. Fløirestauranten is open every day 11 am to 11 pm.

The mysterious Troll forest

Beware of the Trolls...!

A marked trail from the top station leads you to the Troll forest, home to the mysterious inhabitants of Mount Fløyen. Trolls were fearsome creatures in Norse mythology and old Norwegian fairy tales, and one of the thing we are best known for in this little country we call Norway.

An evening walk in the Troll Forest at Mount Fløyen is an excellent opportunity for troll-spotting, since the sun turns them into stone. And if the weather is bad, with rain or fog, it makes the experience even more exciting and mysterious.

Spectacular view point

As you probably know, the view from Mount Fløyen is beautiful by day, but you should take the funicular up in the evening – because Fløyen is a great spot to see the sunsets. And not to mention the view by night! All the lights from the city makes it look like a big treasure chest of sparkling gold.

PS. The last funicular returns to the city at 12 pm.

Try our nature walk

Let the children get to know the area on Fløyen at the same time as they test theire knowledge skills in our nature walk with ten questions. You can get a map for free in Fløistuen café or use our digital version here. Good luck!

Meet our goats

Come and say hello to the ten Fløyen goats who makes a great effort to clear the mountain of thicket and forest. The goats love people,  but please do not feed them as they get all the food they need from the nature around them. If you are lucky they will take a selfie with you.

Hike and explore the mountain

Wonderful hiking trails are waiting for you as you arrive to Mount Fløyen with the Fløibanen funicular. Explore the Norwegian nature and breathe in the fresh air at 320 m.a.s.l.
