Also known as Climbing Bleeding Heart

Height: very tall

Season of bloom: All summer into fall

Growing Conditions: Light shade, Moist soil. In the wild, it is often found on cool limestone slopes but adapts well to many situations in gardens.

Wildlife benefits: Visited by hummingbirds.

From Ottawa Valley or eastern Ontario sources: Yes. My strain has been in gardens for many years but originally came from near Kingston.

Remarks: Biennial vine. Makes an attractive mound of finely cut foliage its first year, extends its long twining stems and flowers in its second and final year.
