Skype founder attracts record amount for new venture fund

Venture capital company Atomico, founded by Skype billionaire Niklas Zennström, attracts EUR 757 million from investors for a new fund to invest in emerging European technology companies. The sum makes the fund the largest of its kind in Europe.

The Swedish co-founder of Skype, Niklas Zennström, has raised EUR 757 million for a new venture fund at his company Atomico. The fund has now been closed, and according to a press release from Atomico, it will become the largest technology-oriented venture capital fund ever seen in Europe.
